The Philippine National Police, as an institution and one of the leading law enforcement and public safety agencies of the government, trusts that physically and mentally fit personnel can deliver effective and efficient public service. Related laws require that PNP personnel, especially police officers, maintain good physical and mental well-being.
Calisthenics can be performed almost anywhere without the need for a gym or special equipment, making them a convenient way to stay active. Calisthenics can help improve strength, muscle tone, and overall fitness by challenging the body with movements such as push-ups, pull-ups, and squats.
Many calisthenic exercises involve dynamic stretching, which can help improve flexibility and range of motion. Calisthenics can also help improve cardiovascular health by increasing heart rate and oxygen uptake during exercise.
Regular exercise, including calisthenics, has been shown to have positive effects on mental health, such as reducing symptoms of depression and anxiety and improving overall mood and self-esteem. Incorporating calisthenics into your fitness routine can provide a range of important physical and mental health benefits.
As part of enhancing the total commitment and participation of its personnel to activities involving physical health and wellness, the Philippine National Police (PNP) leadership has upgraded its "Pulis Hataw Na" program to Pulisteniks, also known as Police Calisthenics, through Memorandum Circular No. 2020-029 or the Revised PNP Comprehensive Health and Physical Fitness Program. to maintain a healthy lifestyle and be physically fit while performing their duties. Physical fitness is both an individual and organizational responsibility, and every PNP personnel member should be physically fit in order to effectively deliver the best police service.
